Keys will be more useful if most mdata files interpret them the same.

keys

• maker - the creator of the file
  • when using author, composer, etc. maker should not be used in the same file
  • when the type of maker is clear, maker should be preferred over author, composer, etc.
• mimetype - the IANA media type of the file
• youtube - the Youtube ID ("v" URL param) of the video

tags

• audio - tags audio files
• video - tags video files and audiovisual files
• music - tags music

slashed prefixes

• stem - the precursor of the file (see stem)
• file - the described file (e.g. file/hash, file/name)
